Hello,

What a day I've had. We can add a fourth thing that you shouldn't talk about at work: Religion, Politics, Abortion and PODSHOW. However, this was the reason I HAD to bring this up (I'm taking a cultural diversity class, and I've seen such bias against podshow that I thought I had to clear the air a bit). However, I did a podcast off the top of my head, with no notes and in doing so - looked like a hypocryte (as I was saying to check facts). So let me add a bit to me previous audio show.

  1. Podshow has a deal with British TeleCOM (I said British Televsion). You know the company that did £19, 514 million in the year ending March 31, 2006.
  2. I had said that other networks had done zip. That is also unfair. Kiptronic was awarded 4 milion in VC back in January. They have also partnered with IODA. They have also struck deals with Akamai Technologies. So my "buzzer" as to what other networks are doing was unfair and to Jonathon and Todd. By Todd, I mean Todd Cochrine of Blurbrry. I know the blubrry network is available via NOKIA phones. I apoligize for not recognizing your hard work.
  3. I also criticized the podshow player. I believe what is happening, is that the Podshow player is copying the source mp3 file to the podshow servers (to ensure delivery I assume) and then it begins to stream it. This process takes too long (if your show is not on the podshow site already). So it does work. In some cases its slow. I do wish they had more promotion of actual podcasts "Above the fold."
  4. I've started a new blog for future commenting on some subjects. (For example Mr. Malley accused me of not paying Kiptronic when the School of Podcasting sponsored their show many, many, many moons ago). Once again Keith didn't check his facts. I will address this at http://easypodcasts.com/blog

Its official (I've been dying to announce for some time now) I will be a speaker at the Portable Media Expo in September. I'm doing a session titled "Planning Your Podcast: Avoiding the Ready FIRE Aim Syndrome." I was going to the expo anyway, but this is such a thrill I LOVE classroom teaching, meeting people, and helping them face to face. If you're coming, and see me be sure to stop me and say hi.
